SOCIAL
WELFARE OBJECTIVES |
Service towards humanity plays a significant role in building the
character of students at Brightlands. In a world of ever changing ideals
and ethics where time tested values are being given a go-by, we aim at
striking a healthy balance between the traditional and progressive. Each
student is required to complete a certain quota of Socially Useful
Productive Work or S.U.P.W. Students make frequent visits to many of the
local institutions to offer voluntary service. They also collect funds
from within the School for various relief organizations.
Dehra Dun is an ideal setting for encouraging a love for nature amongst
the children and our Nature Club comprising of enthusiastic and
motivated environmentalists is concerned with issues like environmental
protection, wildlife conservation, clean Doon and so on.
Brightlands is a member of the International Award for Young People (
the erstwhile Duke of Edinburgh Scheme ) The IAYP is an optional program
offered to students of Classes VIII to XII wherein students are
encouraged to develop personal qualities of self-reliance, perseverance
and responsibility towards themselves and society.
