Our undisputed academic standing nationwide has yet another sequel to its on going success story with the declaration of the Board Results 2006-2007. Sana Ahuja topped Dehra Dun in the Class X , ICSE Board Exam with an outstanding aggregate of 97.2%. We had the largest number of students among all Dehra Dun Schools take the ICSE Board Exam and whipped out an extraordinary score. Eight students secured the first four successive positions in
Dehra Dun . 98 students obtained an overall aggregate of 90% and above i.e. over 40% of the entire ICSE batch of 243 students !
Highlighting the ISC Board Exam, 2007, the batch has gone full force and has to its credit a phenominally high class average of an aggregate percentage of 89%. Raghav Gujral topped the
Dehra Dun sector in the Commerce Stream with an overall aggregate of 96.25%. 8 students scored over 95% and 39 students stood between the 90% to 94%. 45% of the entire batch secured an overall aggregate of above 90%.

The Trophy came back home as we were the proud victors in 2003, the First National Champions of this Quiz and then again in 2004. Never to be out of the league the Quizzing Team made the School proud by securing the All
India First Runners Up Position in the same contest, 2007.
The pride of our School, our young scientists, participated in the National Scientific Talent Search Examination, 2007 organizesd by the Unified Council,
Hyderabad and sparkled by bagging most of the Best Performance Awards. 49 of our Students were among the first 1000 All

Our students topped the charts in the Written Round of The Green Olympiad and the genius duo of Akshay Kumar and Antariksh Barthwal who further proceeded for the oral quiz were declared the National First Runners Up of the Competition held in November 2006. We take immense pride in being part of the contest since the organisation TERI strives for environmental awareness among students.
Yet again the Brightlanders team comprising Shaurya Joshi & Saumric S. Dangwal proved their excellence in the Quarter Final Round of the prestigious Bournvita Quiz Contest by bagging the second position in Kolkata. We can boast of a rare feat as we are the only school in
Asia to have earned the most coveted title as All-Asia Champions of the BQC twice, in the years 2001 & 2005.
The pen is mightier than the sword and we’ve proved it year after year. Ever since the Albert Barrow Memorial All India Creative Writing Competition conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi was instituted our skilled writers have been securing a firm standing among the top ten best writers almost every year. . Maintaining and displaying a strong hold over our ethical foundation and sanskars the participants at the Inter School Geeta Shloka Chanting Competition, 2007 outdid themselves in each category with their crystal clear voices and crisp pronunciations of Sanskrit Shlokas. We have ensured that the prestigious trophies of both Sri Satya Sai Sewa Samiti and Chinmaya Mission now belong to us as this is the fourth year in succession that we have won both the Competitions.
Mastering her strokes and streamlining a perfect car Anisha Raje Vijan secured the third position in “ Dream Car Art Contest”, 2006 conducted by Toyota Motor Corporation in association with Reader’s Digest. It was conducted Pan Asia including
India ,
Pakistan ,
Malaysia ,
Singapore , Hongkong and Phillipines. There were 20000 participants in all and Anisha did us extremely proud.
Furthermore in a State Level Painting Competition on energy conservation held on Nov. 14, 2006, Saara Alam Bora outshone her 80000 competitors to win a Cash Prize of Rs. 10500/=. In the same competition Prakhar was awarded a Consolation Prize of Rs. 1500/=. What better way to celebrate Children’s Day.

Be it District or National Level Competitions, Brightlands has carved a niche for itself by winning laurels at every level in the field of sports over the last two years.
Our young sportsmen on wheels displayed marvelous skill in the All India Roller Skating Competition held in New Delhi in September 2006 where Prateek Arora won a Silver Medal as well as a Bronze Medal in the Rink Races. At the Second All India Open Inter –School Roller Skating Competition organized by the Uttaranchal Roller Skating Association in April, 2007 we sent out a large participating team in various categories ranging from four years to sixteen years. The participants did outstandingly well and the school was awarded the Overall Trophy.
In the Inter- Council Schools Chess Tournament, the Brightlanders left a indellible mark with Aaroshi Bansal winning the Championship in the Senior Girls Category and Khwaab Bansal emerging Champion in the Junior Boys Category. The School was awarded a Trophy in each of the categories.
Almost there, Mahira Chadha secured the 2nd position and was awarded a Silver Medal each, both in the Inter-School as well as the State Level Shooting Competitions in the Sub- Junior Level.. Prabinbir Singh Chadha and Amrit Juneja both won a Bronze Medal in their respective categories in the State Level shooting Competition. The competitions were held at the

Range . At the All India Inter-School Shooting Championship held at Amity University , Noida Jascharan Singh Narula qualified for the Pre- Nationals in the Sub-Junior Category in the Air Pistol Event.
A major strength is Table Tennis and we have been getting only better over the years. In the 3rd S. Wasu Memorial Inter-School Table Tennis Tournament organized by Uttaranchal Press Club in association with Riverdale High School our young champions put up a good fight and were awarded the Runners Up Trophy in the Junior Boys Team Event. In the Inter- Council Schools Junior Boys Table Tennis Tournament our School Team once again emerged Runners Up and were awarded a Trophy. Droan Malik of Class IX won the Championship in the Junior Boys Individual Category and received a Trophy.
Three of our students have been adopted by the Sports Authority of
India . They will be awarded a monthly Scholarship of Rs. 500/= and are eligible for free practice sessions as well. Heartiest Congratulations to Pallavi Mallik, Droan Malik and Apoorva Rawat.

School Activities
A plethora of in-house competitions, events and displays rolled one into the other and kept the students ever on their feet and out of mischief. The school was vibrant with enthusiasm, motivation and of course the Brightlands Spirit! Each of the activities was performed with the taste and the élan as only we can do !
Baisakhi is always the first of the festive celebrations in school on the commencement of the new Academic Year and coincides so beautifully as it marks the New Year as per the Hindu Calender.
God cannot be everywhere and therefore he made mothers. Every mother fully deserves to be saluted . Our primary wing put up plays class wise to honour their mothers as well as made cards for them. The senior children read out self written poems dedicating it to their mothers. A beautiful skit was also staged by the children.
The Inter- Class Chart Competition had each class bring out their creative best ( and Worst ) and saw the students and class teachers work with tireless fervour. As always the last minute touches were still on inspite of the judges walking in !
An Intra- Section English and Hindi Calligraphy Competition was organized for Classes IV, V and VI. With steady grips and deep concentration each child put in his/ her best effort.
Classes VII and VIII had their thinking caps on at the Intra-Section English Story Writing Competition. It is always a marvel to note the various interpretations and perceptions of the same topics. There were a number of prize winning scripts and it sure was a difficult task for the judges to choose from among them.
Patriotism was at the fore, with India celebrating its 60th year of Independence. With true spirit the students sang songs and delivered speeches that touched the very core of everyones heart. It is at moments like this that one realizes what a great honour it is to be an Indian. Long live India and may the generation next take our country from one milestone to another.
The very ethos and embodiment of the School can be sensed at the Investiture Ceremony every year. This solemn event brings out the firmness of purpose as one set of School Captains hand over their responsibilities to their successors. Motivation , determination and passion can be detected in each of the newly appointed officials as they speak out the Oath. The whole School reverberates with pride.
Janamashtmi a festival all children relate to because of the very impetuous qualities of Lord Krishna is celebrated with grand fervour in school. A kathak recital followed by a Gopi – Krishna group dance was extremely graceful, colourful and vibrant . The celebrations culminated with the full of josh Mutki Phor Dance.
